20 Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming to College.

Updated: Jun 3, 2021

  1. Don't buy your books at the bookstore, it is cheaper to buy them off of Amazon, or get in a group for your college and see if another student has the books you need, that will sell them to you for cheaper than the bookstore chargers. Also.. with that. If you do use the bookstore, go with rentals. Don't buy them new unless you wanna like write in your textbook and such.

  2. Surround yourself with better people. Not people that party, and drink. Find good influences that will lead you on a better path.

  3. Make sure you prioritize your studies, and don't slack off.

  4. Sleep is important but so are naps. So go to bed earlier, if you can't take a nap during the day.

  5. Learn time management.

  6. Attendance and participation. GO TO CLASS.

  7. Don't procrastinate.

  8. Find a mentor.

  9. Get a planner

  10. Stay organized

  11. Drink water, and go outside. You are basically a plant.

  12. There are SO many activities and events happening on campus. If you hear about something, go!

  13. Avoid Friday classes, and 8 a.m. classes, when possible.

  14. Romantic relationships can be fun and important, but remember that this is also a time for you to grow as an individual

  15. Take one class that has nothing to do with your major.

  16. Don’t stay on campus all of the time.

  17. Take advantage of your professors help. You are paying them. They are there to teach you. If you need help then ask for it, don't struggle in silence.

  18. You might not be best friends forever with your roommate, and that’s okay

  19. Take care of yourself. Mentally and Physically.

  20. Sometimes you just need to give your brain a break, and that’s completely okay.
